Around and About
Björnbyn village is easy to find just off road 62 only 85 km north of Karlstad. Our cottages nestle in a clearing between the trout-fishing River Klarälven and Lake Rådasjön, on the edge of a sparse pine forest. In the berry season, you will find the ground becomes a carpet of blueberries or lingonberries that lead up to a sandy beach, whose shallow waters are a delight for all ages of waterlovers.
Within walking distance you can find a restaurant, a snackbar and a supermarket.
The town of Hagfors, only 12 km away, offers more restaurants, ample shopping (not to forget the typical swedish "loppis" - second-hand - shop), banks, Tourist Information, indoor swimming pool, mini-golf and a hospital. The thriving University City of Karlstad is just 45 minutes' drive away.
Situated directly by lake Rådasjön, Uddeholm's Golf Club (5 km) offers golfers perfect scenery and there is even a horse trotting racetrack not far away (5km).
The Klarälvsbanan, a 90 km long, nature hiking and biking path that runs from Karstad City to the local village of Uddeholm, passes just across the top of Björnbyn village.
